Fluxus Box

Image
Fluxus Box Moonrise Kingdom Materials: Moss, Elmer's glue, Fabric, Paint, Cardboard, Paper, Lighting, Glass Dimensions: 15 x 12 inches My Fluxus box was inspired by moonrise kingdom, each of the items I created for the box reflect a significant character or turning event in the film.  In this film the two main characters are Suzy, and Sam I represented Suzy as the pair of red scissors because she accidently stabs a scout, she's is a troubled child running away from her problems.  Sam is an orphan who longs for a relationship with loving parents, he is a boy scout and very resourceful,  he also gets into trouble when the two meet at the play and start a relationship.  I represented Sam as the racoon patch because he is a very resourceful character.   https://www.scouting.org/ https://www.poemhunter.com/poem/troubled-child/ https://www.artfulhome.com/product/Wood-Sculpture/Journey-Boat-Couple-with-Bird/41150

Memento

Memento Ball and thread Materials: Yarn, Elmer's glue Dimension: 2 x 2 inches The memory behind this memento project is very meaningful, It was the very first time I met my boyfriend of three years now.  The first time I met Branson I drove over thirty minutes to a house in the middle of the woods I never thought about anything twice.  He's such a wonderful man kind strong sweet.  I choose to use a loose material that defines air, to represent myself a little all over the place, very go with the flow.  To represent my boyfriend I used the same material and wrapped it into a basket with Elmer's glue.  He is the stable one always confident and sure of himself. https://www.elephantjournal.com/2014/06/how-to-love-an-artist/ Definition Loving-  feeling or showing love or great care https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/loving https://www.yourtango.com/2013182354/love-quotes-inspirational-famous

Balsa Wood Sculpture

Balsa Wood Small Sculpture 1st sculpture Materials: Balsa wood, Paper, Wood Glue 2nd Sculpture Materials: Balsa wood, Wood glue, Masking Tape 1st Sculpture Dimensions: 7 x 4 x 6 1/2 inches  2nd Sculpture Dimensions:  10 x 4 x 12 inches 1st Sculpture: Organic The Objective was to create a small sculpture using only three materials, In the process of discovery I was inspired by the natural curves of flower petals. I was interested in combining an organic shape with bold shapes,I settled for triangles because if flowers were pixilated I believe they would appear as triangles.  I enjoyed the space and relationship that was created between the two shapes, and was overall satisfied with the final product. 2nd Sculpture Petals The Objective was to create two small sculptures using only three materials for each.  In search for inspiration I always look to nature for new ideas.  Petals was influenced by the Maypop passion flower, I enjoyed the spiral petals so uni

Masking Tape Shoes

Image
Masking Tape Shoes Materials: Masking tape, Elmer's glue Dimensions: 10,1/2 x 4 x 5 inches           Creating a pair of masking tape shoes was an interesting challenge. The objective was to recreate a pair of my shoes, in particular my high top vans, using only making tape and a minimal amount of glue if needed.  I started with the soles of the shoes creating layers on my cutting board like a sheet of paper.  Next I traced my shoes and began layering the sole to define depth. I also traced the sides and heel of the shoe on a piece of paper, continuing the process of creating depth by adding layers.  I wanted my shoes to replicate the weight, and thickness of my kicks.  This was challenging because the heel was so thick the sides wouldn't hold with just tape so I had to reinforce the material with a little bit of glue.  Overall I was satisfied with my final solution.

"The body is the primary mode of perceiving scale." This photo was taken in my home town Live Oak, at a music festival called Suwannee Hulaween.  If you look closely in the bottom right corner you can see the silhouette of a person standing in comparison to the festival entrance.  This reflects the persons height in perceiving the height of the festival entrance.
